Mr. Frank Njiku has a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Sciences and Management from Sokoine University of Agriculture, Tanzania and Diploma in Environmental Health Science of Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences.
He has also attended a number of professional trainings and short courses on various issues including Environmental Management System ISO 14001; Community Led Total Sanitation (CLTC); and Participatory Hygiene and Sanitation Transformation (PHAST).
Frank has a lot of technical expertise and experience in areas of environmental management; water hygiene and sanitation; and working in community based projects.
- He has participated in a number of professional assignments related to:
- Conducting baseline survey for water, hygiene and sanitation in various projects;
- Conducting CLTS and PHAST training as well as building capacity for Community Health Workers (CHWs) in WASH and nutrition;
- Promotion of community hygiene and sanitation campaign by using CLTS and PHAST approaches;
- Conducting school of five hygiene behavior change program to school children;
- Formulation and building capacity to village water and sanitation (WATSAN) committees on planning, operation and sustainable management of water supply and water sources;
- Conducting participatory community need assessment and community mobilization;
- Raising awareness of the communities on HIV/AIDS and water-borne diseases;
- Conducting occupational health and safety trainings to workers; Environmental conservation;
- Assessment and establishment of environmental management system in industries; Environmental impact assessments;
- and Promotion of renewable energy.
